Join Fundraising Manager Eileen Bagguley who, along with volunteers from the Charity, will be handing out information on kidney health. NHS nurses will also be on hand to carry out free blood pressure checks.

Kidney Research UK volunteers will be present throughout the day – talking to members of the public about the importance of kidney health, handing out information and collecting on behalf of the Charity.

Representatives from the Charity, including Fundraising Manager Emma Collins, return to the Burn Road Tesco with nurses from Hartlepool Hospital, who will be carrying out free blood pressure checks.

Toast Deli in Marple is hosting a special World Kidney Day dinner to help raise awareness of kidney disease and the importance of kidney health. Tickets cost £50 each and include a glass of Champagne on arrival. There will also an auction and raffle, with all proceeds going to help Kidney Research UK.

A ticketed event being organised by the owners of Mr Singh’s Restaurant, with proceeds going to help Kidney Research UK fund further research into kidney disease.

A ticketed event being held at Glasgow’s Masala Twist Restaurant, in aid of Kidney Research UK. Proceeds from ticket sales will help the Charity continue its funding for research.

Starbucks (East Kilbride Shopping Centre), Thursday 08 March 2012 - 10am to 4pm
Kidney Research UK volunteers will join staff at Starbucks to help promote World Kidney Day. As well as handing out information about kidney health and joining the organ donor register, a raffle will be held to raise funds for the Charity.

As well as handing out information and offering people a chance to join the organ donor register, staff at British Home Stores in East Kilbride will be ‘wearing it purple’ and a holding collection for Kidney Research UK. Free blood pressure checks will also be available to members of the public.
